Hear The Victor Co. Players Salute Ric Ocasek & The Cars
On September 19th, 2019, the world lost one of its great pop music masters with the unexpected passing of the great Ric Ocasek - who, along with his bandmates made up ‘The Cars’. ‘The Cars’ helped to revolutionize music in the late 1970s and 1980s and for many ‘The Cars’ represented the highest peaks of the new wave of rock ‘n’ roll in the popular mainstream. The combination of Ric Ocasek’s production techniques and songwriting helped drive the development of all music the proceeded it - and helped deliver us from a very oversaturated disco music/dance music market enshrined at the time by haters as the ‘Disco Sucks’ movement.
Just one week later, The Victor Company Players paid homage to the music, recording, and performance techniques of The Cars’ iconic debut album at The Victor Vault in front of a live audience.
